Project Administration. List of active, archived, deleted and exported projects.
This GroupCamp article explains how to use the Projects application to list and manage projects. Depending on their privileges, users can access MY PROJECTS, ACTIVE PROJECTS and ALL PROJECTS: active, archived or deleted projects (Trash) and exported projects.
With GroupCamp the project is the secure working group that contains applications and data accessible to its members.
The Projects application
The Projects app can be reached from the Home menu of the main menu bar.
ACTIVE PROJECTS section
Access to the menus in this section is protected by the privilege: Modules > Project > Extended Privileges > View > All active projects.
MY PROJECTS section for all users
All users have access to the list of projects of which they are members.
Filters are used to view archived or deleted projects.
ALL PROJECTS section
Access to the menus in this section is protected by the privilege: Modules > Project > Extended privileges > Manage all projects.
This section lists active, archived, and deleted projects (Projects in the Trash). In the same way, the list of exported projects allows to download a ZIP file that contains project data (A ZIP file for each project).
The Settings menu
Only colleagues have access to this menu.
This menu lists the main settings of the active projects. The columns of the table are sortable and can be hidden.
Actions on projects
Several actions are possible on the projects according to user privileges. Use the contextual menu to list the possible actions on a project (Click on the More menu , m keyboard or Right mouse click).

Edit project settings
Project Leaders can edit project settings. Project leaders are the colleagues set in the General tab of the project settings window.
Colleagues with the privilege: Modules > Project > Extended Privileges > Manage all projects can edit the settings of all projects.
Manage members
In the project, this action is protected by the privilege: Modules > Project > The user is Project member > Manage members / Manage followers. Project leaders have this privilege.
The privilege: Modules > Project > Extended privileges > Manage all projects allows to manage the members of all projects.
This action provides access to the Manage members window that allows you to add or remove users from the project. To learn more, check out this acticle: Manage members in a project. Add or remove members.
Project dates
Access privileges are the same as for Edit project settings.
This action provides direct access to the Project dates tab of the Project settings window.
Follow new items. Manage followers.
Access privileges are the same as for Manage members.
This action allows you to manage the subscriptions of the project members that are automatically following the newly created items.
Assign Project managers
Access privileges are the same as for Edit project settings.
This action assigns Project managers for one or more selected projects
Add or remove tags
Access privileges are the same as for Edit project settings.
Project tags are used in application filters to select a list of projects. To know more about tags, you can consult this FAQ: How to set up and manage tags. Use tags as criteria in apps.
Export project data
The data security of your projects is very important.
In the project, this action is protected by the privilege: Modules > Project > The user is Project member > Export Data. Project leaders have this privilege.
The privilege: Modules > Project > Extended privileges > Manage all projects allows to export data from all projects.

Copy an existing project
Access privileges are the same as for Edit project settings.
You can copy the settings and data from another project to use as a template. To find out more, read the FAQ: How to copy an existing project. How to create a project template.
Archive a project. Enable an archived project
Access privileges are the same as for Edit project settings.
Data from an archived project is no longer available to its members. You must Enable the project to access the data again. You can export the data of an archived project. Check out this FAQ if you need to be guided: How to archive a project or enable an archived project.
An archived project no longer counts in the project quota. Archived project data is counted against the storage quota.
Delete a project (Put in the Trash)
Privileges to delete a project are the same as for Edit project settings.
When a project is deleted, it is moved to the Trash menu. The project and its data are no longer accessible to its members. You can export data.
Restore a project from the Trash. Delete permanetly a project
The privilege: Modules > Project > Extended privileges > Manage all projects allows to manage the Project Trash (Restore & Delete permanently).
When a project is Permanently deleted:
- Time spent saved in the project are not deleted (the past is not modified).
- Files owned by the project and shared with other projects or users are not deleted. Read this article to learn how to manage documents for deleted projects and users: File Administration - Transfer files ownership.
- All other items ARE DEFINITELY DELETED. We do not keep any backups.
Create new projects
This action is protected by the privilege: Modules > Project > Extended privileges > Create new projects.
Use the + button from the main menu bar and select Create a new project.
Storage capacity used by projects
Files and Wiki pages are counted against the storage capacity. The Storage icon from the Admin Panel allows to manage account storage capacity. Check out this FAQ to learn more: How to manage storage capacity in my account.
